About november

November (Nov) is the eleventh month of the Gregorian calendar, following October and preceding December. It is one of four months with the length of 30 days.

November is a month of spring in the Southern Hemisphere and autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. Therefore, November in the Southern Hemisphere is the seasonal equivalent of May in the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa. November starts on the same day of the week as February in common years, and March every year. November ends on the same day of the week as August every year. In the pagan wheel of the year, November begins at or near Samhain in the Northern Hemisphere and Beltaine in the Southern Hemisphere.

Chrysanthemums were first cultivated as a flowering herb in China in the 15th century BC with over 500 cultivars in existence by the early 1600's.

The chrysanthemum is often known affectionately as the chrysanth, or simply the mum. Its name comes from the Greek khrusos, meaning gold, and anthemon, flower.
